Any tips on sports which are good to try, my son whilst young (5) is getting very disillusioned and is fully aware he is not able to keep up with other friends? I would like to find a hobby/sport which would restore some interest.
Any research on methods for working on processing delays and methods to employ?
Hiya. I’m not sure where to publish this tip, so please feel free to move it as appropriate.
When I was younger I had something similar to a tent over my bed. It had pictures of cartoon characters (in my case My Little Pony) and I enjoyed going to sleep in my little ‘tent’. It made me feel less scared of going to sleep and also gradually got me used to less and less light.
I note they are now selling these in larger Tesco stores. You can also probably get them on the Internet.
I hope this is of some assistance.

Hi
My 10 year old struggled with any sort of direct competitive sports and would avoid them where possible or lose interest quickly. He has now discovered Martial Arts. He trains three days a week and loves it. He especially likes the fact that he is challenged but at his pace. The discipline and structure works well for him with clear rules and respect from the students. The Kata, which are sets of movements are also great as they help him to become self are of his movements. He has been doing it for over a year and is determined to get his black belt, even though it’s going to take him longer than most!
The rebounders organisation offers trampolining classes for children and adults with special needs.
My son has DCD and has been going for a couple of years and has massively improved his co-ordination and sequencing skills through trampolining.
