Martial arts
Martial arts offer children the opportunities to build up their physical body, socialise with peers and spend their bundles of energy, all within a fun and safe environment.
Most, if not all forms of martial arts are mainly for self-defence and focus on discipline. Training in martial arts can teach children structure, boundaries and self-discipline, which contributes to their personal development. Having these attributes can also help them to feel secure and confident, both of which plays a significant role in the development of social skills.
There are a number of martial art styles and helping your child to find out more about each one is a good first step in helping them to explore their interest in this area, before locating a suitable club which values the development of these positive skills and contacting them for taster lessons.
